Neither of us had any idea that when we decided to take the leap to work wilderness therapy on the Big Island of Hawai'i, we would be meeting the person we'd want to spend the rest of our lives with. Its been seven years since we worked alongside each other as friends, and six since we hiked together on the Pacific Crest Trail as more. We've moved from Hawai'i, to California, to Washington, traveled in South America, Europe and roadtripped across the US. We've survived (and are still surviving, depending on when you're reading this) graduate school together, supporting one another through the stressors of everyday life and work.

Throughout our relationship, our commitment to each other has always been built on radical honesty, compassion, and a mutual lust for life experiences. Our ability to navigate this life together while propping each other's dreams up has always been a pillar of our deep love and respect for one another.

In December 2023, in Yucatán, Mexico, we proposed to each other, individually hoping to surprise one another. It served as an undeniable confirmation that our choice to marry is truly the right decision.
